Ray Nixon
Nixon and Rice take Lahti to Finals

Two Court Side Clients, Ray Nixon and..

.. Kurtis Rice, have together with their team Namika Lahti swept the semifinal series against defending champions Honka in the Finnish playoffs. Lahti, who finished 4th in the regular season defeated the higher ranked Honka on the road twice and at home once to win the series 3-0. Nixon who was added to Lahtis roster a month into the season and Rice who came to Lahti from Pyrintö Tampere in late January, were, as always, key for the teams success. Nixon, a 203 cm tall forward from Wisconsin, scored 21 points (7/9 FG) along with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and a blocked shot, while wingman Kurtis Rice (199 cm, Charleston Southern) added 15 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in only 19 minutes on the floor when Lahti won the road game 85-79. Lahti and the Court Side clients now await to see who will play them in the finals, it could be a clash against fellow Court Side player Jeremiah Wood and his Kataja, who after tonights win over Pyrintö Tampere are up 2-1 in the best of five series. Kataja, who won the regular season, won the game 91-78. Jeremiah Wood might not have scored as much as he normally does "only" 9 points (19.3 ppg in the season), but Wood found other ways to come up big for his team, pulling down 18 rebounds and having 8 assists, leading the team in both categories. Game 4, and a chance for Kataja to secure a spot in the finals, will be played Wednesday
