Gelabale: Charleroi!
French forward Mickael Gelabale has agreed terms with..
.. current Belgian champion Belgacom Spirou Charleroi for the upcoming 2011-'12 season. The 28 year old swingman did have a very good 2010-'11 campaign with Asvel Villeurbanne (Pro A, France) by averaging 14,2 ppg & 4,8 rpg while being 39,2% from behind the arc and 85,3% from the foul line. The versatile Gelabale will compete in the European Championships in Lithuania at the end of this month with the National team of France. He will join Spirou Charleroi afterwards and will have his first official game on September 29 against BC Donetsk in the Euroleague qualification tournement which will be kept in Charleroi. The native of Guadeloupe played in Spain (Real Madrid), the NBA (Seattle Supersonics) and France (Cholet) before. Spirou Charleroi is currently building a roster to compete at the Euroleague level and hopes to qualify for the group games by winning the qualification tounement in their hometown (September 29 - October 2).
