| Holiday season? Not for dominating Jeremiah Wood!
While most people..
.. may have their holidays this time of the year, and a chance to relax and spend time with family and friends, that's not the case for Jeremiah Wood in Kauhajoki, Finland. Wood spent this past week to tear up the Finnish League, just like he did so many times last year while playing for Kataja. First he took his Kauhajoki to play last years champion Namika Lahti on the road. Wood posted 33 points while shooting 14/18 from the floor and he added also 16 rebounds and dished out 4 assists as he led Kauhajoki to a road win, 97-93. He also got help from his teammate, Reggie Golson, who chipped in with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Ricky Hickman posted 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the defeat, with Ray Nixon adding 19 points and 6 boards. Kauhajoki wasn't done for 2009 by that win though, as they finished out the year with a homegame against Woods former team Kataja. Wood again led the forces to a impressive win: 95-64. Wood almost came away with a Triple-Double, filling out the stats sheet with 27 points (11/14 FG), 19 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 blocks and 1 steal! Reggie Golsons effort wasn't "bad" either, as he finished with an impressiev 16 point and 15 rebound outing. When Golson and Wood joined Kauhajoki the teams record was 1-15 but after the duo's-arrival, the team has won 4 out of their 6 games, and now stand at a 5-17 record which is just a win away from beeing on safe ground to stay in the Korisliiga. With alot of games left this season, the Play-Off hopes are still alive as well.
