Iisalo: prospect for Europe
Iisalo joins Court Side

Finnish National Team player Tuomas Iisalo has..

.. signed a contract with Court Side. Iisalo is a wing (pos 2/3), who currently plays with Kouvot in the Finnish league, being teammates with fellow Court Side player Calvin Walls. Iisalo is enjoying a good year, while Kouvot is tied for 2nd place in the league with a 23-11 record. Kouvot enjoyed a big win over rival Honka last night, the team Kouvotlost to in the finals of the Play-Offs last season, when they defended their homecourt with a 76-70 win. Walls scored 21 points (7/10 FG) along with 5 rebounds and 2 steals, while Iisalo added 13 points, a rebound and 3 steals. Other Court Side players in Finland also saw victory come to them last night, as Lahti with Ray Nixon and Kurtis Rice took on Porvoon Tarmo, in a easy game for the hometeam winning 98-74, Ray Nixon lead the way with a great outing with 25 points (10/12 FG, including 4/6 3PT), 10 rebounds and 3 steals. Rice added 9 points and 5 assists in 20 minutes in the win, Lahti is tied with Kouvot at 23-11 at 2nd place. Jeremiah Wood and his league leading Kataja, improved their record to 25-9 with their roadwin at Korihait, Wood consistent as he is, came up with another great outing with 21 points (10/14 FG), 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Last but not least, Durell Vinson and his KTP Kotka came away with a last minute roadwin as they beat Componenta Karkilla 68-67, which keeps KTP on 4th place, with a 22-12 record. Vinson had 16 points and 13 rebounds along with a block and a steal in the win. 10 games for each team remains of the regular season before the "tile dance" starts.
