Nelson: Upstairs/Weert
Demetrius Nelson has inked a contract until the end..
.. of the season with Upstairs/Weert in The Netherlands. The 203 cm center participated in the Court Side Camp in Las Vegas this past summer. Afterthat, he signed in Poland with Stal Stalowa Wola where he played 3 league games (21 mpg in which he had 8,3 ppg (55,6%) & 3,0 rpg). The former graduate of The Citadel University had a an excellent senior year (2008-'09) in college with 16,4 ppg (59,6%), 6,5 rpg while being 77,3% from the foul line. The Citadel was the most improved team in the NCAA Division One this past season having 14 wins more than the season before. Because of his impressive input, Nelson was also voted 1st team All Southern Conference. He will provide Upstairs/Weert with a strong presence at the low post position which will put the team in a better balance overall. Nelson is known for his inside moves and can finnish in the lane area. Besides that, he likes to play physical at both ends of the floor. Upstars/Weert is currently having a 4-9 record while being in 8th place in the ranking.
